The challenge, and how it was solved
The site sits 40 m from the Nile bank with groundwater at 2.8 m below ground. The answer was continuous dewatering behind a secant pile wall installed before excavation, and casting the raft in three night pours with concrete temperature held under 32 °C. The largest pour was 1,800 m³ over 14 continuous hours from two batching plants.
